Fire Rated Awning Window

Greene Fire’s Aluflam AF70 Fire Rated Awning Window combines fire protection, natural ventilation and contemporary architectural design in one innovative glazing system. Featuring thermally broken aluminium framing and specialised fire-resistant glass, the AF70 provides Fire Resistance Levels (FRLs) of up to –/60/60, making it a practical solution for external applications where fire protection and ventilation are required.

Designed with safety and functionality in mind, the AF70 is a self-closing, self-latching awning window that automatically closes upon fire detection through a fusible link mechanism. The system incorporates a patented fire-retardant insulating core and high-temperature gaskets, providing protection against fire, smoke and weather exposure.

With maximum dimensions of 1200 mm wide by 1500 mm high and an opening gap of up to 125 mm, the AF70 offers flexibility for architectural applications. Available with powder-coated or anodised aluminium finishes and compatible fire-rated glazing options, the system integrates seamlessly into modern building designs.

Tested in accordance with AS 1530.4 for fire resistance and AS 2047 for weather performance, Greene Fire’s fire-rated awning windows offer a specialised glazing solution for projects across Sydney, Melbourne and Australia. Final specifications and installation requirements are subject to the relevant system test and assessment documentation.

How Does The Glass Work?

The AF70 Fire Rated Awning Window uses specialised fire-resistant glazing within an insulated aluminium frame.

Depending on the required fire rating and application, compatible glazing options include Pyrobel and Contraflam products.

These glazing systems are designed to resist fire exposure, with selected configurations also providing insulation performance to reduce heat transfer.

The final glass specification must be selected in accordance with the relevant tested or assessed system configuration.
